Dr. Shi Wei suggested that high-tech enterprises in the new period should firmly increase investment, enhance the chain to complement the chain, make great efforts to solve the major national needs, achieve independent control and increase international competitiveness. Referring to his entrepreneurial journey over 8 years, Dr. Shi Wei thanked Shandong Province and Weihai City for their talent policies and good talent development environment, and the strong support and guidance from the party committees and governments at all levels. For the development of scientific and technological innovation and the laser industry he is engaged in, Dr. Shi made two suggestions: first, to rely on national strategies, strengthen scientific and technological innovation, and develop new dynamics of marine laser equipment in our province; second, to strengthen the introduction and cultivation of superior enterprises of lasers at the strategic level, and to strengthen the laser industry chain in our province.
Dr. Shi Wei is the Chairman of Shandong Haifu Photonics Technology Co., Ltd. and a professor and director of the School of Precision Instruments and Optoelectronics Engineering of Tianjin University. He is a member of the Committee on Terahertz Technology and Applications of the International Conference on Optics and Optoelectronics CLEO, a member of the Committee on Nonlinear Optics of the International Conference Photonics West, a member of the Standing Committee of the Optical Engineering Society of China, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Optical Society of China. He is a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering, a member of the Laser Committee of the Chinese Optical Society, and the Vice President of the Shandong Optical Engineering Society. He holds 4 U.S. invention patents and more than 50 Chinese invention patents, and has published more than 200 scientific papers and more than 80 invitations to international academic conferences and conference presentations.
